LOWS. 1) Goa. Instant package holiday hell, complete with "Bob and Brenda" from Hull thinking it's ok to spend 50 quid on a day trip that will cost any backpacker about 2! Fools! Sorry, I will now step down from my travel soap box. 2) Trying to arrange transport anywhere. Just as bad as China only more paperwork. 3) Spending a night in Panaji fighting off the artful attacks of an army of bastard bedbugs, and then itching like a mad thing for a week later. Not nice! HIGHS. 1) Traffic. The roads in some towns here seem to be a nutty mix of cars, trucks, autorickshaws, bikes, motorbikes and scooters not to mention the donkeys, camels, snuffling pigs, goats and of course, the odd sacred cow. Just attempting to cross some streets is like something from the Krypton Factor. 2) Spending a night in 1st class on a train from Ahmedabad to Udiapur and finding the price of the ticket included my very own armed soldier! 3) Unexpectedly staying with a family in Tamil Nadu. I was sat on a bus and the man next to me had cut his knee badly whilst in the middle of the scrum to get on the bus.
